Case Study: Larkhill Nursery School


The head teacher of Lark Hill approached Gilding & Company to help them meet their EYFS requirements. Recording child developmental progress is a requirement set my government. Whilst paper records are easy to complete they do not facilitate any kind of analysis and off the shelf packages had proved too complicated and inflexible to the needs of the school.

The requirement was “simple” – devise a system to meet EFYS reporting needs. There was no specification and the working practices of the school would have to be taken into consideration.

The resulting system went through much iteration and since launch has been through several updates and changes. Every solution is a learning experience.
